We'd like to invite you to this webinar on gender and COVID-19 vaccinations in Asia Pacific

on 21 October 2021 at 11am-12pm (Kuala Lumpur: GMT +8)


Discussions will be moderated by Dr Sabina F Rashid (Professor and Dean BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, Bangladesh and Director of the Centre of Excellence for Gender, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights).


Panel speakers include:

· Dr Kira Fortune WHO, Western Pacific Regional Office- Philippines

· Ms. Yoke Ling Third World Network, and Partner of Feminists for Peoples Vaccines Campaign- Malaysia

· Dr Gunjan Taneja, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-India


Presentations to set up the discussions will be from:

· Ms. Kalani Sachs-Robertson, UN Women

· Dr Lavanya Vijayasingham, United Nations University International Institute of Global Health (UNU-IIGH)




Some objectives of the event include:

● Identify and validate research needs on gender and COVID-19, including from UN Women’s listening session and literature review, on vaccines and other thematic areas to supplement the research agenda-setting process


● Share emerging results on research priorities from the Asia Pacific region


● Discuss strategies to promote and support research implementation of the collaboratively set agenda in the region

● Serve as networking opportunity to link different actors within the region who work on or are interested to work on gender and COVID-19 research


● Engage wider cohort of participants from the Asia Pacific region in the research agenda-setting prioritization survey and initiative
